The official navigation did not identify a separate list for people released today, a last-24-hours filter, or a historical release archive when the sources were reviewed. The roster should therefore remain labeled as a current-custody tool. It must not be converted into a release list by comparing copied snapshots.
This absence changes the first step. Someone trying to learn who left Laurel County Correctional Center today needs a release transaction, a court event, a VINE status change, or a dated Kentucky DOC release report. Each source has limited scope. County records cover local bookings; DOC reports cover state offenders, including some held in local beds; federal and immigration systems cover their own custody. No single public list combines them.
The date boundary also needs care. “Last 24 hours” is a rolling period measured back from the lookup time, while “today” begins at midnight. A movement at the edge can fall within one description and outside the other. State the exact interval when asking the jail for records. That keeps a late-night release from being lost because the calendar date changed before the check began.

Laurel Release Alerts and Limits
Kentucky VINELink can show a custody-status change and accept notification registrations for a specific record. It is useful before an expected release. It is not a public archive of everyone who left during a day, and its alert is not the signed Laurel movement record. A person can also have separate local-jail and DOC records, so a local “released” event may coincide with transfer into state custody.
Federal custody needs a separate check. Laurel reports housing federal prisoners, and disappearance from its roster can reflect movement under the U.S. Marshals Service.
